On the internet, there have been some heated debates on whether animals can feel emotions. As animal lovers, we give them our whole attention. We believe in their abilities because we are familiar with them. They feel, they love, they become hungry, and when a loved one dies, they are devastated and mourned as well.
Children’s love for their parents is as deep as a mother’s love for her offspring, and even animals can sense this. When an Indian man hesitated to leave his dead mother’s body, he discovered this extraordinary relationship between a puppy and his mother.
When the dogs were discovered, many individuals did nothing because they were unsure how the canines would respond (they were afraid to get close). Meanwhile, they were all deliberating on how to approach the problem. When Somi arrived at the scene, he took the initiative and gently assisted the dog.
Somi Gopalan had seen a photo of the same dog, a puppy laying on her mother’s body, a few days before on Facebook, but she had no idea where he was.
The puppy and his mother had been there for a week, according to VoSD (The Voice of Stray Dogs). Somi took some time to figure out where the puppy was, and VoSD couldn’t find the canines during that time…
Somi dutifully buried the puppy’s mother. He had to persuade the puppy to join him several times, which was difficult because the youngster did not want to leave his mother.
Sadly, his mother had died and had been rotting for several days. What a pity!
The most terrible part is that photographs of the puppy embracing his mother’s body continue to circulate on social media. People have also spread the image for selfish reasons, demanding contributions. It’s distressing to know that this is still going on.
Keep an eye out for anyone attempting to profit from the use of such images. Fortunately, this puppy was already rescued, and his mother was euthanized. He’ll be OK soon, and he’ll have enough love to last the rest of his life.
We appreciate Somi and VoSD’s efforts in rescuing the dog and providing for his mother’s proper burial.
