It has been reported that YG Entertainment has responded to fans’ calls for appropriate action to be taken to protect BLACKPINK member Jennie. The star has been the victim of privacy invasion after photos of her personal activities were shared. Recently, a selfie that was taken during a date between her and BTS member V gained attention online, leading to more speculation and demands for clarification from the agency as well as the K-pop idol.

According to YG Entertainment’s statement released on October 3, appropriate steps have been taken. We were informed that the agency had taken the matter to the police, launching an investigation and planning to sue the culprits. Those responsible for distributing the images online will be prosecuted. They informed us that the agency has been continuously monitoring the content spread online and filed a complaint in September.

To minimize the damage caused by the situation, YG Entertainment has refrained from commenting and expressing their position. However, as personal attacks, sexual harassment, and invasion of privacy became their primary concerns, they found it difficult to hold back.

To rectify the situation, the agency will take legal action without leniency. Repeatedly sharing unverified content and writing excessively hostile posts against their artists will be charged with defamation of character and violation of the ban on illegal distribution of information. Moreover, any secondary sharing of illegally disclosed images will also be punishable.

In a recent notice, BIGHIT MUSIC cited an individual who spread rumors as a legal proceeding to protect their artists, making fans believe that the subject was BTS’ V, whose photos were posted online.
